Louise Anne Marler is a photographer, graphic artist, and curator. Providing commercial graphics and printing for 20 years, she is a hands-on specialist. Marler is meticulous about papers, inks, and color in all her prints made of her work or others’.

Medium and large formats, with master digital printmaking skills, select archival papers, and Epson archival and dye inks, her prints are vibrantly colorful with super fine detail. Digital printing is the cleanest of print processes.

She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. Mostly self-taught, various art classes at SMC, workshops at Scripps College, self-help graphics, and freestyle photography add to the progression of her work.

“My photo-based mixed media art has iconic visual vocabulary. Authentic style has led to exhibits, art collections, and events that integrate history, education, and entertainment. Raised in a family that collected, sold, and repaired typewriters, these and other vintage machines are part of my personal history, which naturally became the subject matter of my visual expression. I’m inspired by Americana, pop art, analog, and digital technology.”

I developed my unique photo art in a Santa Monica Airport hanger turned studio after owning and operating a graphic design and print shop there. I currently live and work in Joshua Tree, where I created The Type Inn, a typewriter and art gallery writer retreat. I spend my summers in my hometown, St. Louis, where I created The TypOsphere typewriter museum and art gallery, as well as The St. Gen Type Inn. www.TheTypeInns.com
